About the artist
Hi! I'm Ellie and welcome to my corner of the internet. :)
⋆。°✩ Im an illustrator from Dorset and recent graduate of BA Illustration from the University of Gloucestershire, but most importantly a lover of anything with a rich history!
I love to make queer art inspired by historical settings and nature to reimagine our place in the past, this includes anything from Shakespeare to Sappho! I’m currently reimagining Shakespeare’s Sonnets from a queer reading to culminate in a lovely risograph printed book!
I work both digitally and traditionally (I love a good riso print!) to create colourful, joyful and sentimental work with an aim to spread joy. :) I primarily specialise in portraiture, but anything with a mystical twist is bound to grab my attention. With my sketchbook in arms, I aim to capture the whimsical and record all that means the world to me.
I run an online Etsy shop selling art prints, stickers and zines (and sometimes more!), and also attend conventions and maker markets to exhibit work when I can.
If you’d like to keep up with my creative work follow me @theftshrubbery on all good platforms as seen above :)
